This is the best chewable iron I have tried. The cherry flavored tablets are so much better than other chewables - they really aren't bad at all. They digest easily...negative results you see from most iron as the "output".One down side is nausea if I don't take this with food - so recommend taking this with dinner or any other meal or heavy snack. We tried liquid form & pill form. (He chewed the pill even though it was supposed to be swallowed.) It was a huge struggle that he stressed over. Finally, as a last resort, we tried this chewable form. He loved it! He said, "It tastes like bubblegum!" Now he takes his vitamins with ease. Thanks so much! I wasn't disappointed. The other reviewers are spot on. This is the most palatable iron supplement I've ever tasted (I tasted it before trying it on my son) and my 5 year old *asks* for it every day! We went from puking the entire meal if it was followed by Ferinsol to the child reminding me to give him his dose every day, it tastes that good. Enough said.Caveat: the dosage mentioned on the label is for adults only. Check with your pede about the dosage for your child. Dosage varies depending on body weight and excess iron is fatal to young children. |
